Many stories of Galician society are linked, fortunately or unfortunately, to emigration. Lonxe: Diary of a Volunteer is one such story.
Throughout history, the different waves of Galician emigration have happened in different ways: twenty days by boat glued to a trunk that carried little more than clothes and food for the trip, long train journeys across borders, loaded cars that only rested to refuel. .. One of these recent emigration stories is the one in Lonxe: A Diary of a Volunteer.
Lonxe: Diary of a Volunteer recounts the 33 weeks of a European Voluntary Service (EVS) volunteer, now renamed the European Volunteer Corps, lived in the Netherlands. All the trips, all the people and shared experiences to demonstrate everything you learn when you step out of your comfort zone. It also reflects on Galicia and other European countries compared to Spain, stereotypes and other issues and concerns of the age.
